"As an old friend used to say: good night, and good luck."

Overview[]

Jonah returns to his mother's house to look through his childhood things for clues. What he finds is an overwhelming wealth of information which brings him to the conclusion that the answers he seeks aren't in the past but in his present-day actions.

Plot[]

With no episode footage shown, Jonah is seen driving to his childhood home and sneaking around his mother in order to collect a box of childhood things from the attic. He finds drawings, tapes, books, and cassettes accumulated by his mother about child psychology and her attempts to glean information from production and broadcast entities, without much luck, which is displayed through montage.

Overwhelmed with the realization that his mother already put time, research, a doctorate degree, and legal efforts into investigating his unusual childhood, Jonah decides he won't find answers where his mother couldn't. He instead decides that to answer his questions, he has to find out where Gabby is in the present.

Montage[]

The bulk of the episode inter-cuts footage from several archival sources about or relating to child psychology.
