"I'm sorry, Gabby." - Francis.

Overview[]

Increasingly concerned about what incident may have torn them apart, Jonah reviews the fourth episode of the show and is troubled by the vague implication that Gabby has done something drastic for his safety, and planned his cover story as well.

Plot[]

Jonah's worry increases, letting his concern for Gabby overrule the instinct that his current situation is bizarre and frightening. In the VHS copy of the episode, Gabby confronts Francis about his behavior. He's stolen one of her angel feathers, and lied to her about the theft. Gabby expresses that the latter is the most hurtful of the two offences and asks the viewer if Francis should be forgiven, citing Proverbs 19. He pleads for mercy, and she grants it, forgiving him (much to his relief).

In the VCR recording of the same episode, Gabby is much harsher on Francis and even gives a scornful look to his pleas. She cites that Revelations describes the place prepared for liars and insists that Jonah must never lie. Instead, in preparation for some upcoming event, he should make sure he has a real alibi so that he can be honest when questioned. Gabby asks Jonah how she should proceed, and without revealing what's really being asked, agrees to Jonah's unspoken decision. Jonah has looked into incident reports in his hometown from the time of his childhood, but a flood had mysteriously struck the town and destroyed all records held in the municipal building.
