"I could certainly use some fortitude!" - Friend Francis.

Overview[]

Tape 2 gives light to the circumstances surrounding Jonah's youth, as Angel Gabby departs from the episode's plot to show him how to effectively hide in his room and manage stressful situations. It also serves as the first look into the companies behind the show.

Plot[]

Jonah begins with research he has done into the show. This is our first glimpse at the Angel Hare TV Show's two versions and the two companies behind them. He then proceeds to point out differences between the two.

A raincloud with a face yawns and awakens, leaving and taking the rain with them. Bellow sits a sad Francis with a jar of honey. Gabby joins him to encourage him to enjoy the beautiful day, but he struggles to see past the dreary weather. Gabby uses faith and hope as keywords in a lesson about having fortitude. Edified, Francis' spirits are lifted. In the VCR recording, though, Gabby is more troubled as she gives Jonah a lesson on how, despite it's warmth, the sun can be dangerous.

In a new scene, Francis sits on a hill overlooking a flooded path. He's dismayed again at the prospect of crossing the rushing stream to get to his home. Flying in to help, Gabby offers him the constructive option to continue down the path and look for a narrow crossing rather than wallow in despair. The VCR recording takes a hard departure here as Gabby leaves Francis, who continues to say his lines unprompted. She flies up to her house and shows Jonah how to block the door to his room using a backwards chair. She then instructs him to enter his closet, where she tells him that the darkness can be peaceful and teaches him good breathing exercises to reduce stress. She specifies that Jonah can feel safe "even if he finds you." Present-day Jonah is left with the grave realization that there was a 'he' in his past that had since been forgotten.
