"Look who's finally taking some responsibility." - "Jonah"

Premise[]

In order to complete the game, Jonah has to confront the trials set in front of him by Camael.

Plot[]

Jonah attempts to advance through the game, however he remains stuck in the Dark Forest, with every command being blocked by either the crow or Hyrax, who directs Jonah to ask about himself. When he does, Jonah's in-game persona appears, telling him that despite finally taking responsibility for his actions, he was too late. In-game Jonah observes how real-life Jonah was cheating through the game throughout his playthrough, and as such forcefully transitions the game to the ending.

Jonah encounters the princess, who tells Jonah that he cannot complete the game with how little he actually did throughout his quest, and as such was unable to prove his friendship. Jonah asks about Segen, and when questioned states that he was trying to help his friend. However, the crow denies that Jonah was ever friends with Segen; instead, Jonah was only using Segen so that Jonah would not have to return home, leaving Segen longing for a genuine relationship. Jonah states how this was not about him, and then asks about Camael. The princess denies Camael's existence but Jonah reveals that he knew Camael was present this entire time. This causes the screen to glitch out as the map is replaced with a hand that reaches out to the screen. Eventually, a glitched portrait of the princess appears as it slowly reveals a new character: Camael themself.

Camael claims that the reason Jonah was here to fix him was only to make himself and Segen feel better, and blames Jonah for using his friends along his way. Jonah denies the accusation, however Camael calls Jonah out on his guilt, repeatedly questioning his reasons for maintaining his friendships despite believing his friends were too good for him. This stuns Jonah, who pauses before finally admitting to Camael's accusations; however, he then retorts by saying that his friends also use his help and emphasizes that they use each other because they are good friends that can rely on each other. With this admission, Jonah is finally able to summon Gabby and Zaggy past the cave, who voices their support for Jonah as Camael is sandwiched between their two portraits.

Camael disappears as game's congratulations screen then pops up. The princess congratulates Jonah for confronting his fears and reinforcing his strong bond with his party members -- the purpose of Jonah's quest.

The two angels return to Angel Hare as Jonah reveals that Camael wasn't actually hiding from them; they were, in fact, represented by the entire game itself. The game restarts from the beginning, but as Gabby and Zaggy calls out to Camael, it causes the princess to stutter as Camael ignores them, showing their wish to remain in the game. Zaggy asks Gabby to do her "hand-holding approach", and Gabby reaches into the game and tries to pull Camael out. As Camael resists, their portrait cycles through every character that appears in the game.
