In an old demo of Hyrax in the Rocks, Hyrax answers the viewer's questions.
Plot[]
A v0.3 demo prototype of Hyrax in the Rocks is launched as the "help" option is selected. Hyrax greets the viewer, telling them to type their inquiries into the command box.
Questions[]
"Q: What do you know about Hyrax, and do you have free will?"
A: Hyrax explains that the Hyrax species are resilient and formidable mammals that are able to find a home in any location, whether it be a small crack or hole. Hyrax completely dodges the free will part of the question, calling it a "broadly-defined concept".
"Q: Is there currently a queen, or would the princess become a queen?"
A: Hyrax explains how, although the princess may become a queen in the future, at the end of the day everyone has their own paths they can choose if they believe it's worth chasing.
"Q: What is it like having Jonah suddenly return, and how can you mend a broken friendship?"
A: Hyrax explains how it can be difficult to meet old friends again, and that mending broken friendships is entirely dependent on figuring out the issues that caused the break in the first place. Hyrax emphasizes that there are cases where it's best that the two friends remain apart and hesitates before saying it's still worth trying to fix the relationships that one believes is worthwhile.
"Q: Is it hard to accept the forgiveness you've been given?"
A: Hyrax agrees that forgiveness is a special gift that can only be given through one's own will and explains that this gift should be treasured. He then metaphorically shows the "gift" being placed in a chest and eventually growing into a tree, which represents the forgiveness being placed in a safe place and acting as a reminder that everything is now alright, while continually acting on this forgiveness will gradually strengthen its effects.
"Q: Who was the man on the outside and why did he stop helping Gabby?"
A: Hyrax claims to have no idea who "the man on the outside is" but believes is a case that would fall under Title 11 United States Code Section 101.
"Q: Why are angels helped by 'Fran's?"
"Q: Do angel hares need to pick their friend or could they go solo?"
"Q: Are there any other instances of 'Fran's quitting/being fired?"
A: Hyrax does not address any of these questions, instead growing increasingly hesitant, monotone, and depressed with each question.
"Q: How do you answer everyone's questions, and do you need a break?"
A: Hyrax uses this question as an excuse to try and end the Q&A, claiming that he needs a break. He repeatedly asks the viewer to exit the game and eject the disc as the screen slowly zooms away from him, before he forcefully kicks the viewer back to the main menu, promising to catch up with them later ("much, much later"). The "credits" option is then selected and the credits roll, this time with no credits banter or Easter egg.
